Who we are
Wind-NL is an Android application developed by Folkert Datema / Superfly Visuals. It displays real-time wind measurements for Dutch coastal stations.
Data we collect
We do not collect any personal data. Specifically:
- No name, email address or other identifying information
- No location data — the app never requests location permission
- No device identifiers
- No usage analytics or crash reporting
- No advertising identifiers
Data stored on your device
Wind-NL stores the following preferences locally on your device only, using browser localStorage inside the app’s WebView:
- Your hidden stations (station codes)
- Your preferred wind speed unit (m/s, knots, km/h or Beaufort)
- Any custom station codes you have added
This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Third-party services
The app communicates with one external service:

ddapi20-waterwebservices.rijkswaterstaat.nl
This is a publicly available Dutch government API operated by Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch National Water Authority). The app sends requests for wind measurement data. No personal data is included in these requests. Please refer to the Rijkswaterstaat privacy statement for information about their services.
No advertising
Wind-NL contains no advertisements and is not connected to any advertising network.
Children’s privacy
Wind-NL does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a new date at the top.
